His work has received the American Book Award as well as multiple Eisner and Harvey Awards. In 2023, the University of Malta awarded him an honorary Doctor of Literature degree. In 2026, he published Requiem for Gaza with Chris Hedges, based on interviews with Palestinian families who had fled Gaza. He was part of the New York Times team that won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of global terrorism. Hedges holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, is the author of numerous books and hosts The Chris Hedges Report.
