The series on which Greenwald worked along with others won the 2014 <a title=\"Pulitzer Prize for Public Service\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pulitzer_Prize_for_Public_Service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pulitzer Prize for Public Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His reporting on the <a title=\"National Security Agency\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Security_Agency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Security Agency<\/a> (NSA) won numerous other awards around the world, including top investigative journalism prizes from the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"George Polk Award\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/George_Polk_Award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">George Polk Award<\/a> for National Security Reporting,the 2013 Online Journalism Awards, the <a title=\"Esso Journalism Award\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Esso_Journalism_Award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Esso Award for Excellence in Reporting<\/a> in Brazil for his articles in <i><a title=\"O Globo\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/O_Globo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">O Globo<\/a><\/i> on NSA mass surveillance of Brazilians (becoming the first foreigner to win the award), the 2013 Libertad de Expresion Internacional award from Argentinian magazine <i><a title=\"Perfil\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perfil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Perfil<\/a><\/i>, and the 2013 Pioneer Award from the <a title=\"Electronic Frontier Foundation\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electronic_Frontier_Foundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electronic Frontier Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His work on the NSA files was in part the subject of the film <i><a title=\"Citizenfour\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citizenfour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Citizenfour<\/a><\/i>, which won the 2014 <a title=\"Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Academy_Award_for_Best_Documentary_Feature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Academy Award for Best Documentary<\/a>.
