In this video, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald investigates the ambiguous nature of the term “terrorism” and how it is applied selectively by governments and the media. He examines several cases, such as the transformation of former al-Qaeda leader Ahmad al-Sharaa from a designated terrorist to a respected leader, and the shifting portrayal of the Azov battalion in Ukraine from neo-Nazis to nationalists. Further he argues that the definition of “terrorism” is based on political convenience rather than consistent principles.
