Gaza whistleblower defamed online after exposing atrocities

12. August 2025

In this video, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald interviews Previously Prohibited podcast co-host Melissa Witte about her independent investigation into a smear campaign targeting former U.S. Green Beret Tony Aguilar. Aguilar, who had worked as a contractor for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), publicly denounced the organization’s aid distribution practices in Gaza, describing them as unethical and constituting war crimes. His whistleblowing prompted a smear campaign against him, accusing him falsely of domestic violence charges. Witte debunked the claims through public records research, concluding the circulated arrest document was fabricated.
