In this interview, Dimitri Lascaris speaks with former UN human rights lawyer Craig Mokhiber about the mechanisms available to the United Nations to respond to such findings. They also discuss Israel’s recent attack on Qatar and the reactions of Arab and Muslim states.

Craig Mokhiber is a former senior United Nations human rights lawyer who served in various leadership roles during his decades-long career, including Director of the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. He resigned in October 2023, citing concerns over the UN’s handling of the war in Gaza. Mokhiber is recognized for his work on international law, human rights, and accountability mechanisms.

Dimitri Lascaris is a journalist and lawyer. As a lawyer, he specializes in class action litigation, international law and human rights. He was a member of the shadow cabinets of the Green Parties of Canada and Quebec. In 2020, he ran for the leadership of the Green Party of Canada and came in second.
