Today, we are launching our annual crowdfunding campaign to ensure that we can continue our independent, non-profit journalism in 2026 — journalism free from any external influence and without accepting money from corporations or governments.
The past two years have been especially significant for our channel. We expanded our capacities, broadened our editorial range and brought more international voices and perspectives to our platform. During this period, we reached around 6.5 million views, gained more than 20,000 new subscribers and grew our community to a total of 166,000 subscribers. Despite this growth, our monthly contributions and one-time donations have steadily declined throughout 2025 — a clear indication that this decline is the result of the current economic environment, not a lack of public interest or the quality of our journalism.
In last year’s campaign, thanks to 2,200 supporters, we were able to raise 62,000 euros by the end of January and thereby fund our journalism throughout 2025. This year — with sharply rising studio, tax advisory and other operational costs — our goal is to raise at least 80,000 euros by January 9, 2026. This amount is necessary to cover the ongoing costs of our journalism: tax advisory services, insurance, translations, transcriptions, proofreading, voice-over, video editing, website maintenance and much more. If you click here, you can view our transparency report, which provides a detailed overview of all expenses connected to our journalism. If we are unable to reach this target, we will have to significantly reduce our capacities for 2026 — or, in the worst case, shut down entirely.
If you follow our content regularly, we would be grateful if you could contribute a small amount of just 5 to 10 euros. If only 5 to 10 percent of our 166,000 subscribers donated this amount, we would reach our annual goal with ease. This campaign is an opportunity for all viewers to strengthen one of the most important pillars of democracy — independent and free press — and to ensure that we can continue providing you with facts and analysis that you simply will not hear in corporate media. Below you will find all available options to support us.
