Dimitri Lascaris spoke with Costas Lapavitsas, a Professor of Economics from the University of London, about the dangerous repercussions of the Trump administration’s actions regarding tariffs. Since returning to the White House on January 20 of this year, Donald Trump and his advisers have rolled out one tariff threat after another, only to suspend his threats and then suddenly replace them with even more aggressive threats.

He is also the founder and editor of the YouTube channel Reasons 2 Resists with Dimitri Lascaris.

ABOUT COSTAS LAPAVITSAS

Costas Lapavitsas is Professor of Economics at SOAS, University of London. He researches the political economy of money and finance, the financialisation of contemporary economies, and the economics of the European Union. He has published widely and writes for the UK and the international press. His latest book is “The State of Capitalism”, Verso, 2023.
