Barely Reported: The U.S.–Israel Military Merger

24. July 2026

Former U.S. presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich speaks with award-winning journalist Max Blumenthal of The Grayzone about Section 219 of the U.S. defense bill—a little-noticed provision that, in Kucinich’s assessment, could pave the way for a far-reaching merger of the U.S. and Israeli militaries.

Kucinich describes the initiative as a “strategic trap” and warns of consequences extending far beyond ordinary military cooperation. At stake, he argues, are American sovereignty, congressional control over war and peace, and the integration of sensitive fields including artificial intelligence, cybertechnology, intelligence and weapons development. Why was an initiative of such magnitude advanced without a dedicated public debate?

This video was produced by The Grayzone and published on their YouTube channel on the 16th of July,  2026. We have translated it into German and are republishing it today to help build opinion on this issue in Germany and beyond.
