Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India last week and held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who greeted Russia’s President with elaborate honours. During the visit, the leaders announced a plan to increase trade between their nations from $65 billion annually to $100 billion. Also, President Putin vowed to maintain an “uninterrupted” flow of Russian oil to India.

Dimitri Lascaris speaks with John Helmer, the longest continuously serving Western correspondent in Moscow, about the strengthening of ties between Russia and India and Trump’s failure to drive a wedge between them. Dimitri and John also discuss China’s historic tensions with India and the failure of Steve Witkoff’s 28-point plan to end the war in Ukraine.
