Can Washington Save The Saudi Dictatorship?

In this video, human rights lawyer and journalist Dimitri Lascaris examines the growing escalation surrounding Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Strait of Hormuz. He looks at attacks on key Saudi airports and energy facilities, the increasing intensity of Iranian attacks on tankers, and how vulnerable the region’s infrastructure has become.

Lascaris also turns to the role of the United States: How far can Washington really go in militarily and strategically shielding Saudi Arabia while pressure from Yemen and Iran continues to grow? And what could further escalation mean for regional oil flows and the stability of the Saudi leadership?
