New U.S. Politician Questions the Ukraine War: A Breakthrough?

9. July 2026

In this video, published exclusively in German on our channel, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald examines the deeply rooted hostility toward Russia in the United States and Europe — and how it continues to shape the debate around the war in Ukraine. The starting point is new U.S. politician Darializa Chevalier, who is questioning funding for the Ukraine war.

But Greenwald goes far beyond that: Why is there near bipartisan support for the war in Washington? Why has criticism of NATO, the CIA, the Pentagon, and foreign wars largely disappeared from big parts of the U.S. left? And why was even Donald Trump unable to simply pull the United States out of this conflict?

This video was produced by System Update and published on the Glenn Greenwald YouTube channel on the 27th of June, 2026.
